RayNeo Air 2S – Insanely BRIGHT 201″ 120Hz AR Glasses!
These are the brand-new RayNeo Air 2S, and they have one of the brightest and largest displays I have ever seen on a pair of AR glasses. If you’re new to the RayNeo Air lineup, these are augmented reality glasses that project up to a 201-inch virtual screen from your phone.
They can also connect to your laptop, Nintendo Switch, or even a Steam Deck. They use USB Type-C, making them compatible with almost any modern device on the market. And I think you’re going to like them. In the box, you’ll find a thick user manual, demo prescription lenses, a USB Type-C cable, a larger nose pad (in case the default one doesn’t fit), a microfiber cloth, and, of course, the glasses themselves.
For an extra cost, you can also pick up the RayNeo Pocket TV, which acts as a streaming box for all your favorite apps like Disney+, Prime Video, and even Netflix. Now, I know one of you guys is going to ask me, “How much do the glasses weigh?” Well, they weigh about 78 grams, which is incredibly light compared to something like the Apple Vision Pro or Meta Quest 3, which weigh well over a pound.
For context, my regular reading glasses weigh about 25 grams. I’ve worn the RayNeo Air 2S for hours at a time, and their weight has never been an issue. The cool thing about these glasses is that they’re designed to fit a variety of face shapes.

I have a very thin face, and since the hinges are flexible, I can bend them inwards, and they stay in place. If you have a wider face than mine, you can bend them outwards. They now feature 4 speakers instead of 2, delivering sound that’s 6dB louder than the previous version.
The speakers work well in most situations, but if you’re on a plane and need active noise cancellation, you might want to use separate headphones. There is a volume rocker and a menu button that lets you switch on Whisper Mode and adjust the display colors. I personally leave it on the saturated setting because I like the colors to pop.

You can also switch between 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates. I stick with 60Hz for watching content because there’s no point in using more battery, but I bump it up to 120Hz when gaming. On the opposite arm, there’s a brightness control toggle allowing you to choose from 10 levels depending on your environment.
Now, let’s talk about the actual viewing experience because watching content on a virtual 201-inch screen from 6 meters away is pretty awesome. I don’t even bother bringing an iPad when I travel anymore because the larger display from these glasses is way better.
Also, this is the brightest viewing experience I’ve had with this style of glasses. 600 nits of max-to-eye brightness translates to around 5000 nits, making it extremely easy to watch content even in a bright environment.
The 1080p, 0.55-inch, low-powered micro-OLED displays are made by Sony, and they look fantastic, with punchy colors, vibrant contrast, and improved edge clarity compared to the previous version.
Device Compatibility
As for compatibility, I’ve tested the RayNeo Air 2S with several devices:
- iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro
- Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
- Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro
Basically, they work with many modern phones. iPhone users can even download RayNeo’s app from their website to view spatial videos directly in the glasses.
How I Use Them
Most of the time, I use them with my smartphone, since it’s always with me and has internet access.
A question I get a lot is: “Does your phone screen stay on?”
- On the iPhone, the screen can be off and locked, and the content will continue playing in the glasses.
- On Android, the screen must stay on, so I recommend lowering the brightness to save battery life.
You can mirror your phone’s display, browse all your apps, or even watch Instagram Reels. But as soon as you flip the display horizontally inside YouTube or a streaming app, it mirrors the same way inside the glasses.
Gaming Compatibility
Nintendo Switch users can connect to the glasses, but not directly. You’ll need either:
- Nintendo’s dock
- RayNeo’s JoyDock (for portable use, includes a 10,000 mAh battery to power both the glasses and the Switch)
For Xbox and PlayStation, you’ll need an HDMI to USB-C adapter.
For Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and MSI Claw, the glasses connect directly. Personally, I mainly use them with the ASUS ROG Ally X, and setting the refresh rate to 120Hz makes gaming on a 201-inch screen an amazing experience.
Right now, I’m still playing Elden Ring. I know I started very late, but it looks so much better on a bigger display.
PC & Mac Compatibility
The RayNeo Air 2S works with both Mac and PC:
- On a Mac, the glasses mirror your display, which is great for watching content or playing games.
- On a PC, you can extend your display, effectively using the glasses as a second monitor.
There’s enough space below the glasses to look at both monitors simultaneously, which is perfect for referencing information on one screen while typing on another.
But no matter what device you connect your glasses to, the display follows your head movements. You can’t anchor the display in one spot, so keep that in mind when working. I find the glasses more enjoyable for watching content rather than for actual work.
Accessories: The Pocket TV
Besides the JoyDock, another accessory is the Pocket TV. This is sold separately, and it’s basically a Google TV streaming box that fits in your pocket.
It provides access to apps like:
- Disney+
- Prime Video
- Apple TV
- Plex
- Netflix (via a web shortcut)
It’s basically Google TV. If you’ve used Google TV before, you know what to expect. It has a simple, clicky remote and includes Google Assistant for voice control, making navigation even easier.
The only downside to the Pocket TV is the lack of offline streaming. You’ll need a Wi-Fi connection or carry your own content via microSD card.
Battery Life & Final Thoughts
The 6500 mAh battery provides about 5.5 hours of use, but you can also charge it while using the glasses.
So, here’s the thing—the RayNeo Air 2S is an impressive upgrade, with one of the brightest displays I’ve ever seen in this category of AR glasses. It has better sound with extra speakers and a sleek design that makes them look like regular sunglasses.
Whether you’re traveling, gaming, or watching content, the RayNeo Air 2S is a great choice. These glasses offer a better alternative to traditional tablets. The adjustable brightness and Pocket TV accessory add even more functionality.
I like that they’re not trying to be the ultimate VR or AR tool, but instead, they offer a simple and effective way to always have a massive screen in your pocket
